Session 3 - 8/17 - Team-Building
The focus today will be getting the team up-and-running on their own steam. The students will determine their team responsibilities, how much they will delegate and collaborate, and their project milestones. Hopefully we'll close some distance to selecting an innovation challenge problem. Then we'll get to work on all the things!
Note to self: bring calendar, big white paper pad, pseudocode forms and wireframe maps.
Agenda
1. Presentation Game
- Students will be directed to describe one of the FIRST Core Values while either using a good or bad speaking style (e.g. loud and clear/mumble or too-fast, eye-contact/head-down, hands still/hands wild).
2. Assign Team Responsibilities
- Everyone contributes, everyone learns, but everyone doesn't have to do everything, nor at the same time. Divide and conquer!
- What will we delegate? How will we collaborate?

- Feedback control: gyro straight/turn; line following.

6. Robot Instruction: Programming, Measuring, and Pseudocode.
- "Programming" vs. "coding"
- How to plan, get numbers before you start coding.
- Measure
- Check Spike Prime brick output
- Split the difference when making adjustments
- Write-out or draw your steps.
- Use comments and MyBlocks to break code into pieces and remind yourself what each step does.
- Remember to use an initialization code, indicator lights, and ending code.
