Session 6 - 9/8 - Take a Fix and Adjust Heading
In nautical navigation, every so often the navigator "takes a fix," i.e. establishes the ship's position relative to its planned route, and then provides the conning officer a heading to both correct for drift and return the ship to the planned route.
Per the kids' milestone plan, last week we should have developed our innovation project solution and had our base code set, along with selecting our missions to focus on. Instead, they haven't yet contacted any researchers to learn more about LIDAR use in forestry. RP has developed some of the base code, but the other kids weren't using it in their initial solution attempts.
This session we'll take a fix and decide what we need to do to get back on course.
